Self-Managed Attendant Care

Direct-Funded can help you with your responsibilities as the employer of your own attendants through the Self-Managed Attendant Care Program.

Self-Managed Attendant Care

  • What is Self-Managed Attendant Care?

Available province wide, the Direct Funding Program enables adults (16 or over) with physical disabilities to receive monthly funds for attendants of their own choosing, to schedule as they please – whether their needs are at home, at work, or in the community. Individuals self-manage their lives, making their own choices with greater flexibility and control.

  • How can DirectFunded help me?

DirectFunded can help you manage your funding by taking care of all the required bookkeeping, payroll, remittances, and reports. We will support you through the required financial management, which can often be cumbersome and time-consuming, to allow you to focus on finding the best supports and to ensure that you get the most out of your Self-Managed Attendant Care.

  • How much does DirectFunded cost me?

It costs you NOTHING. The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) provides funding for your bookkeeping needs. This funding is in ADDITION to the funds you receive to purchase hours of service.
